If you are like me you are wondering what Kent CORNUCOPIA Days is about, and you probably read the definition above and start to get worried, well don’t be, it is as innocent as it sounds.
Yes, there are pirates riding trikes and pulling other pirates behind them on roller skates, or even them walking The Plank (not kidding, this happened), and yes there are a lot of corporate tents about, A LOT! but there are also many other people that come down to this festival. Farmers bring their best crop, and this is the Seattle Area, so Rainer Cherries are all around. For me this was an even more amazing experience, because I got to show and sell my art.
Myself and my friend Alex Poorman (@PoorArtMan) from Miniature Dragon Comics were invited by the Artsy Fartsy Art Lessons studio to come and demonstrate our crafts. If you have not seen Alex’s art before, you really should check out his YouTube Channel, it’s new but he does some pretty cool stuff, and we had a blast.
For me, the coolest part is when a witch or wizard hears the call of one of my wands, and they find a home together. I started this company to destroy the pine wand guy at Emerald City Comic Con (and oh yes I will) but I have found joy in what these wands give back to each individual who buys them.
Next year, I may or may not have a tent, but I hope to see you down there, some amazing people creating some amazing things!
I even met a very talented artist (because she was chosen by one of my wands) who I am offering some room at my booth at Jet City Comic Show and I am not disappointed in the art that she has. Please check Ellen Whitwell out at her Instagram and come and see her art at my booth (which is still to be determined, subscribe to stay in the loop) at Tacoma Convention Center in Tacoma, Washington October 26-27.
